Commission FAQ
Q: What types of commissions do you offer?
A: I offer character art (portraits, full character and character turnarounds), full illustrations, environment and prop art. I will on occasion accept graphic design projects if it is a good fit. If you have an idea that doesn’t fall into any of these categories, feel free to inquire — I’m always willing to explore new creative projects.
Q: Why do you have different detail levels? What are they?
A: The different detail levels help me determine how much time your project will take, which helps me determine your price. Most of my "finished" work includes a process of a sketch, followed by inks (line art), flat colors, and shading. Depending on which detail level you choose, the process will "stop" earlier. This is great if you're looking for a cheaper option.
Q: How much are your commissions?
A: My commissions are priced on a case-by-case basis in order to give the most fair price.
Q: What is the difference between a personal and commercial commission?
A: Personal commissions are anything purchased by an individual for personal use (e.g., drawing of yourself, your D&D character, a painting for a friend, concept art for your book), whereas a commercial commission is for a business or professional product (e.g., book cover, logo, TV show or video game character design). The main difference is that commercial work is intended for resale or trademark. Commercial commissions are priced higher and may include royalty agreements.
Q: What is the deposit fee?
A: My deposit fee is 50% of the total commission price and guarantees your spot on my calendar. You will pay ½ before and ½ on completion.
Q: How long will my commission take?
A: My average completion time is 2 weeks for a single illustration, starting when I receive the deposit. Rush orders can be requested with an additional fee.
